Intentional Faith Development

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer….praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”  1 Acts 2:42-45 NIV

What does this mean?

It means:

We strive to grow in Christ-likeness through study and learning.

We offer high quality learning experiences that help people understand Scripture, faith, and life—all in a supportive and nurturing environment.

We offer these opportunities to all age groups because we believe faith is something we grow into and strive toward.

In The Book of Acts, Chapter Two we read that the earliest Christians “devoted themselves to the apostle’s teachings and fellowship, and to the breaking of bread and prayers.”    To us, this links learning with community life.   Community life provides us with support, encouragement and direction as we grow in our Christian faith.  Many of us have come to faith in Christ through group study, sharing, and caring.

At Park there are numerous opportunities to gather together to grow in faith, from regular Sunday School classes for children through Adult Education offerings.  Beginning in September 2022, Park began making use of a resource called “The Story”—a collection of excerpts from the NIV Bible, arranged chronologically.  This journey through the entire Bible--lasting 31 Sundays in total-- will conclude in May, 2023.  The results are already heartwarming!  Summer 2023 will see the return of our Vacation Bible School.  There are on-going studies for women.  Park also boasts a very well stocked library for anyone who wishes to further bolster their faith development.  Come and see what we have on offer!

Elders Roxanne walker and Becky Pilarski co-chair the Christian Nurture Committee at Park, and they are eager to point you to offerings that will meet your needs.
