Risk-Taking Mission and Service

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?  Even sinners love those who love them.  If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you?  Even sinners do the same.  But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High”  Luke 6:32-33, 35 NIV

At Park Church, we practice RISK TAKING MISSION AND SERVICE

What does this mean?

It means:

We work to make a positive difference in the lives of others for the purposes of Christ

We offer these services whether or not recipients will ever be part of our faith community

We believe growth in faith and love is necessarily tied to practicing Christian compassion

We believe in service work that stretches us outside our comfort zones

Park has a long history of mission outreach, not just within Beaver county, but much further afield.  We have sent mission teams to Brazil, for instance.  We continue to support efforts of Christian education and relief entities around the world.  Closer to home, we have on-going connections with The Center in Midland, Tiger Pause in Beaver Falls, and have recently begun an expanded relationship with the Salvation Army in Rochester.  These connections not only improve the lives of others, they also challenge and change our lives.  Chances are that you have seen Park members in a whole host of outreach activities, for we believe that since Jesus rolled up his sleeves and worked to change things for the better, so should we!

Elder Bruce McCowin—along with an energetic team of Park volunteers--chairs our Mission Commission at Park.
